Project 365 Day 51 – Out and About

selling furniture at the side of the road, Sri LankaThis might just end up being a regular thing with me. 🙂

I’ve mentioned before that all sorts of things are sold at the side of the road. Selling rattan furniture is no exception. 😀

wanderings tray cow, Sri Lanka selling Dole bananas at the side of the road, Sri Lanka

Of course I have the requisite wandering cow photo. I always have a requisite wandering cow photo. 😀

Then there’s the guy selling Dole bananas. Bananas = common here. Dole bananas, not so much. 🙂

picking fruit from a tall tree, Sri Lanka

And here, we’ve got a guy standing on a wall while using a very long makeshift pole to pick fruit from a tree. That’s a common enough sight here, too. 🙂

transporting plants through rush hour traffic, Sri Lanka Olive's Kitchen & Grill, restaurant, Sri Lanka

Here, we have the most common method for transporting plants here – in the back of an open truck. How else? 🙂

Then there’s the restaurant Fahim and I went to, which was pretty decent.

  1. More than likely Dole has a contract with banana plantations here, which would explain the box. A lot of bananas are grown in Sri Lanka. A lot a lot. 🙂

I’m glad to hear you’re entertained by the photos. I am, too, honestly. It’s so different from life in Canada. 🙂
