This wouldn’t be a problem if the Tamil people actually wanted this. But at this point, no vote has been done among the Tamil people, so it’s just the LTTE being power hungry and unreasonable.
See, that’s one of their conditions for peace. That they want to be the sole governing party in the north and the east.
They don’t want an election. They don’t want the people to decide. They don’t care what any other Tamils want. They want to be governing party, and dammit, but the government damn well better make it happen. Or the bombs will fly.
How dumb can people be?
Yes, please, let’s have a provincial dictatorship. We’ll elect our federal representatives, but locally, we like dictators.
