Monsoons are here to stay.

For a little while, anyway.

And it was announced on the news this morning that water reservoir levels are rising. Which means no more power cuts.

Okay. Monsoons.

They officially began at the beginning of the month. But it’s not like suddenly one day, it goes from raining once a month or so to dropping bucketloads all day long. No, it’s much more gradual than that.

Except for that one day at the beginning of the month.

But it’s been raining more frequently and lasting longer and longer. One night, it rained for hours and hours. But Fahim tells me that, when it really gets going, it can rain for 12 or more hours a day. It’ll be gentle, then get really heavy, then change angles, then get a lot of wind involved. In other words, not a steady rainfall by any means. And it’s like that every day.

Oh great. So uh, I actually will have to use my umbrella?
