“Planet Run” by Gordon R. Dickson and Keith Laumer

Published 1982.

“The last virgin planet in this sector of the galaxy is about to bust wide open – and two ancient heroes are going to trade the rest of their lives for one sweet year of youth, and the chance to make one last Planet Run.”

What they don’t tell you is that one of those ancient heroes only lasts for 20 pages into the book. So what’s the point in mentioning him at all? It’s just deception, pure and simple.

This book is mainly Tough-As-Nails Guy with Rich Guy’s Sidekick Softie Kid Make It Big despite Unbelievable Odds.

That pretty much sums it up right there. What else do you need to know?

Oh. It was mildly entertaining, but honestly, those fight scenes bore the heck out of me, so I skipped pages and pages – probably half the reason I finished it so fast.

That’s pretty much it.
