All flights to Male suspended

Alladin Hussein in Colombo, December 27, 2004, 1.06 a.m.. The Katunayake International Airport suspended all flights to Male, after Maldivian authorities shut down the Male International Airport following the tidal waves incident which left more than two thirds of Maldives under water. Katunayake airport officials told the Lanka academic that there were more than two flights to Male, and one was via Male to Japan. The official added that other than the Male flights all other flights are on schedule. The Male International airport is likely to be back in operation soon.
