The LDS church will be spending money here, so donations through your tithing slip will make it here. What amount I don’t know yet. Of course, that only applies to those who are LDS. You can also go to the LDS church’s Provident Living site and donate directly through there. The church has also issued a statement.
A general guide – unfortunately – is that if the donation site is Sri Lankan, don’t trust it. We have no controls in place like the US and Canada do to regulate charitable organizations, and they tend to be, uh, slippery. Is that a descriptive enough word?
