Sri Lanka votes today

There are 225 seats in Parliament, with 24 parties and 200 independent parties all vying for those seats. A total of 6024 people were competing for those 225 seats.

And shall we do the math? It works out to 26.77 people competing for each seat.

In Canada, I find it confusing enough to decide who’s the best politician among a half dozen or so. There, people usually vote along party lines – much less of a headache it seems. But what do you do when you have that many people to choose from?

Probably exactly the same thing – choose along party lines.
