In Canada, I knew Singer only for sewing machines. I had no idea they made anything else. I moved to Sri Lanka and learn that there are Singer stores everywhere that carry Singer-brand products like fridges, stoves, washing machines, and so many other things. You can even take cookery classes through Singer, which is possibly the purpose behind this.
And here, we have a Singer Mobile Kitchen, by golly!
Singer was one of the first makers of automobiles, they had the machinery and technology. Then Henry automated!
Singer made vehicles? Why am I surprised? I think I need to read up more on Singer…
Inspiring. Are they successful?
They built autos long before the big three. They had foundries and machine shops needed to manufacture http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Singer_Motors
+michael davisburchat I have no idea.
+Terry Babij Thanks for the link. I'll be reading up on them. 🙂
My first sewing machine was a basic-model Singer! I loved that machine… 🙂
My first machine was a used Czechoslovakian machine that did straight and zigzag stitches and absolutely nothing else. It was great! But I had to leave it behind in Canada…
