Project #365 Day 39 The Naming of the Bird

This bird, an Oriental Magpie Robin (Copsychus saularis), visits me pretty much every day for the last few months or so. He sits in the jumbu tree or the lime tree or on the wall, chirping happily or watching activity around him, like the Seven Sisters who also come for near-daily visits.

He doesn’t seem to mind me watching him, and he frequently watches me back, no doubt trying to figure out if I’m a threat or not. I’m not. 🙂 I take pictures, but that’s the extent of my meanness. 🙂

I think it’s time I name him. Although, really, I don’t know that he’s a him. He could be a she. I don’t know.

I’m thinking… Harold. Or Piotr. Or maybe… Fitzgerald. Geraldine?

What do you think I should name him/her/it?

Uh oh. I just read that the Oriental Magpie Robin in Hong Kong has tested positive for H5N1 and contact should be avoided.

Maybe I should name him/her/it Quarantine? Fahim says I should name it The Swine. How about Untouchable? Er…
