Given that it has not appeared in any serious news reports, I suspect the whole thing is a fraud, sensationalism at its best. Granted, I’m no seismologist, but it seemed far-fetched from the start.
However, I want to know. I want reputable scientists going on record saying whether or not this is possible and to what extent.
Damn that curiousity and all that!
