Vijitha Yapa’s is the best bookstore in Sri Lanka

That much is true.

Will they have what I want? Who knows? But after much discussion here, Fahim suggested that I might actually be able to find something at Vijitha Yapa’s, the local big bookstore. After all, in this country, nearly everyone sews (and cooks, but that’s a whole other topic) so it has a certain amount of logic to it.

In Canada, people found it impressive that I could sew. But then, I also quilt, knit, make my own jams, jellies, chutneys, and other preserves, make bread, and pretty much all the rest of that domestic stuff.

Eh.

To me, it’s just normal. It’s also called being self-sufficient.
