Tom Yum Goong

We watched Tom Yum Goong last night, and I gotta tell you, it isn’t worth watching if you like silly little things like a plot and character development. But then if you don’t care about anything other than action and violence and martial arts, then yeah, you’d probably like it a lot.

Personally, I stopped watching about fifteen minutes from the end since the violence – breaking arms & legs, dislocating of various joints, baby elephant flying through glass – was so over the top, and near as I can tell, I didn’t miss a thing.

However, we thought the first movie by the same two main actors and the director, Ong-Bak, was much much much better and very much worth going out of your way to see.

And yeah, I’m still talking about the awesome high-speed trishaw chases in Ong-Bak. Most excellent!
