Pineapple Re-Runs

We had pineapple with condensed milk for breakfast again. Yum.

Have I mentioned before that I love pineapple?

No?

Okay. I love pineapple.

Oh, and Kim, you mentioned to me several years ago that you can only eat so much pineapple before you start getting cuts in your mouth from it, and Lou’s the same way. Perhaps it has something to do with how you cut your pineapple?

Pineapple should be cut so that you can no longer see any of the outer skin. Meaning, all those circles should be gone down to the flesh. Fahim says that if you leave any of the outer skin on the pineapple, that will give your mouth sores for sure. It’s okay, though, to leave the little hairy things in place. And we don’t remove the core, to tell you the truth. It never bothered me in the pineapple I bought in North America, and it bothers me even less here. Pineapple here is less fibrous than North American pineapple, much sweeter, and more acidic. Yum.

Did I mention that I love pineapple?

Right.
