Goats

You know how cows are everywhere in Sri Lanka? How they stop traffic, take naps in the middle of intersections, park themselves in front of department stores, wander around like two-bit whores? And if you didn't know that, you really need to get caught up on the rest of my blog. 😉

Goats aren't quite as pervasive as cows, and yet, there are some areas where they seem to be everywhere. Galle, for one. Kurunegala by the lake for another.

We stopped off to buy fruit from the back of a truck in Kurunegala, and surrounding the truck and in the foliage were about, oh, forty goats. Not tied up, no. And happily snacking on… whatever they found.
