No one should be surprised that there are tsunami relief scams. I know I’m not. But then, I’ve been warning you since the beginning to only donate money to charitable organizations you know and trust.
But now it’s official. It’s on CNN.
The ones that have hit the internet, though, don’t just take your money and run, some of them spread computer virii or steal personal information.
A fraudulent relief donation Web site that, if accessed, can infect the user’s computer with a virus was also found, the FBI said.
Just another kick in the pants, eh?
In other words, use your usual amount of seemingly uncommon and mis-named common sense and a whole lot of paranoia mixed in. Be careful.
