This is a trishaw…

transporting dressers, Sri Lanka

This is a trishaw on drugs.

Trishaws, if you don’t know, are basically tin cans on wheels. The top is vinyl, the fabric, and it keeps its forms much like covered wagons did back in the wild wild west. In other words, it’s not the most, ah, structurally sound vehicle around, you get me?

On top of the trishaw are two wooden dressers. Solid wood.

Not exactly light. Like, you know, mattresses. Which I do see transported on top of trishaws regularly enough. Heck, we transported mattresses home that way. Seems like most people do. 🙂

But a solid wood dresser?

Or two?

This would not be the most, ah, common way I’d expect furniture to be moved here.

  1. I haven’t heard of any such incidents, but that doesn’t mean much, I suspect. I imagine probably, yes, but I also suspect probably not often. Trishaw drivers know their vehicles pretty well, you know?
