We were scheduled for a power outage today from noon until 5pm. It actually started sometime before one and lasted until shortly after 3pm. Cool. I can handle that.
But in the middle of it, a vehicle with a loudspeaker went driving up and down the streets in our neighborhood warning us of another power outage on Monday – 8 am until 5 pm. Drat.
I better do my cooking first thing in the morning. No, not because I can’t handle lighting the burners with matches. Because I won’t have fans to keep me cool if I cook later. Cooking first thing in the morning doesn’t wear me out as much as cooking at, say, 11 am.
This is actually something I’d considered changing in my routine anyway – doing the cooking first thing in the morning. Strictly for the heat factor. Gotta do anything I can to prevent me from melting. . .
