I am the kid in the candy store

stairs, Sri LankaI have a Nikon Coolpix S10 with a 10x optical zoom, which, for a point & shoot camera, is great. Since I got it just over 3 years ago, I’ve put over 9,500 pictures on it, so it’s definitely been well used.

But I’ve also been feeling its lack. It’s a point & shoot, so there are features it doesn’t have that I want – like the ability to control aperature, shutter speed, or to manually focus, or to use different lenses. Or to get really really really close to my subjects. As great a camera as the S10 is, and no doubt I’ll still keep using it in certain circumstances, like every day going out, it’s time for me to get a bigger, better camera with more features.

And since I’m the anal retentive detail oriented type, I spent a couple of months researching cameras. And settled on a Nikon D90.

Today, I’m the kid in the candy store.

The D90 is here, in my possession, in my hot little hands. ๐Ÿ˜€ And I could not be happier. ๐Ÿ˜€
