Green Chilis

I found out recently that the green chillies we get here are Thai Peppers. I think. 😀

The description sys that Thai peppers are 1-3 inches long, but ours are usually 3-4 inches, so I wonder. Although it’s possible that it’s the soil conditions and environmental that cause ours to grow longer, I really don’t know. This is, however, the closest I’ve found, so I’m going with it.

Why do I care? Well, I don’t know. I’m thinking of growing some.

See, the ones we get in the store are almost always green. But if they ripen to red, then they’re much hotter, which is what Fahim and I would prefer. If I grow my own, then I can harvest them when I feel like it. Plus I might wind up with hotter peppers anyway. Why not try it and find out? I’m always game!
