What I haven’t talked about yet are television advertisements.
What I find very interesting is that, on a Sinhalese language station, they’ll have ads in English. On an English language station or during English programming, there are ads in Sinhalese.
Um, why?
I asked this of Fahim once, many many weeks ago. Because the people watching Sinhalese stations also speak English, and vice versa. Uh, yeah, okay. Except for me, of course.
