Fahim’s Baby Tooth Fell Out

Nope, that’s not a typo. Yep, it’s true. It really happened. And no, we’re not talking about baby Fahim either. Nor did we rename Oberon Fahim. Nope.

This evening, while we were getting for bed, or rather, Fahim was getting ready for bed – I was already done – Fahim made an exclamation! I was in bed under the net, and Fahim came into the bedroom to show me the large gap between his teeth. Of course, I’m looking through a net, which means that visibility ain’t great – this is something Fahim regularly does, showing me things through the net, and I did what I regularly do – that is, I climbed out from under the net to get a better look. Yep, yon tooth was gone.

And guess what?

There IS an adult tooth poking through the gums.

Fahim’s told me that the tooth has been there for a long time. It just didn’t bother poking out, and the baby tooth just didn’t bother leaving. Now that the baby tooth is gone, I wonder if the adult tooth will show it’s face?

And as a side note into all of this, the baby tooth was hanging on by a hinge. Fahim would poke it, pull it, prod it, and otherwise move it around nilly willy, knowing full well that it grossed me out. Of course. Why wouldn’t he provoke a reaction? Isn’t that the role of the male of the species?

Don’t even bother wasting your time with that question. We all know the answer.

The next question is the telling one.

Did Fahim’s Tooth Fairy stop by and give him any money?

Well, see, there’s a problem with that.

Fahim’s in his mid-thirties. His tooth fairy retired decades ago, and unlike Michael Jordan, she didn’t feel like coming out of retirement.

However, if you feel that the tooth fairy should have come by for a visit, feel free to loan him yours. 🙂
