Chameleon! Maybe?

chameleon on the drain chains, Kurunegala, Sri LankaChameleon live in the wild here. They visit us in Colombo, but here, this one is hanging on the drain chains (to drain rain from the roof) at the house in Kurunegala.

They’re smaller lizards that Fahim calls chameleons, although I’m not sure if they are a proper chameleon.

From what I’ve gathered so far, it’s possible that this may be an Oriental Garden Lizard, (Calotes versicolor), which is native to the region, including Sri Lanka.

If you have better information than me, please fill me in on what this is. 🙂
