I’ve taken photos of this insect before as it’s a frequent enough visitor in these parts, but this is the best one I’ve taken. I have no idea what it’s called. … Do you like it, hate it, or are you indifferent to it?

I played with the tint until I got it firmly into the browns. Okay, so this would be considered less a photograph and more photographic art or something, I imagine. I’m okay with that. 🙂 What do you think of the photo?

A few days ago , I mentioned a decorative palm we have in our front yard that has seeds that go from brownish yellow to yellow to orange to a deep red. These aren’t those seeds, although these are located in the same seed pod thingie that bursts open. I don’t actually know what these are called, but I find them interesting.

We have a decorative palm in our front yard that goes to seed in a sort of serial manner. One seed pod opens up and matures, then a month or so later, another one does the same, and so on. As these seeds mature, they turn orange, and then to a deep rich red.
