Back in Canada, I lived in Edmonton and worked for Fantasyland Hotel and Triple Five Corp – night auditing and accounting. Then I moved to Vancouver and worked as an accountant. Then I became a self-employed accountant. Then I moved to Kelowna and stayed a self-employed accountant.
Then I met Fahim online and moved to Sri Lanka to marry him. And I started photographing stuff here and blogging about it (and yes, I do know it’s out of date. I’ll theoretically get it caught up soon.)
I quit my accounting evil-doings and became a writer, which I blog about here. Mostly of fiction, mostly novels, but with some short stories and flash fiction, mostly science fiction although the latest novel is fantasy. Which I hope to finish the first draft, then edit and polish by end-2008, at which point I’ll start submitting to agents / publishers.
Fahim and I are both writers of science fiction and we enjoy playing in each other’s universes.
I write because I have to. That, and to support my husband in the style to which he’d like to become accustomed. That, and because all the voices in my head want out and onto paper where they can entertain you. Or drive me even crazier than I am already.
I also do freelance writing with Fahim, the spousal unit, in the form of brochures, company profiles, proposals, software user manuals, book proposals, and so on. Fahim’s also the editor of a local geek / gadget magazine by name of C3 (Computers, Communications, and Consumer Electronics), and I’m the assistant editor. And I write articles for local magazines.
And I dabble with my interest-of-the-month. I’m currently on sourdough.
