The Writing Prompt
I’ll post a writing prompt, theoretically one every day for the month of November.
The prompt might be in the form of a picture, title, words or phrase to be included in the story, or something else entirely.
What you do with the writing prompt is entirely up to you. Whether you write micro fiction (100 words and under), flash fiction (2000 words and under), a short story, or use it as a prompt for a novel really doesn’t matter as long as you’re writing and having fun.
If you post what you’ve written online to a blog or other website, please link back to the specific writing prompt that prompted that story (using a permalink or permanent link) and leave a comment on that prompt with a permalink to your story so we can all check it out.
Your reward? A breathtakingly brilliant short story or a crazy plot twist if we’re all lucky. Or perhaps an infusion of brilliant ideas that’ll rocket your novel to the top of the New York Times Bestseller List! Hey, make sure you give me half the profits, eh, for providing you with the idea…
The Tip of the Day
I’ll try to post a tip of the day every day in November. Hopefully they’ll help someone.
How you can help
If you’ve got a great idea for a writing prompt or a writing tip, email me at laurie at laurieashton dot com. If I use it, I’ll credit you and provide a link back to your blog, website, Twitter page, or something similar.
