NaNoWriMo 2008 is quickly approaching. Only… Uh, 14 more days! Two weeks!

For the uninitiated, NaNoWriMo stands for National Novel Writing Month and is a contest of sorts geared towards getting you, average Joe Blow, to write 50,000 words towards your very own novel. Whether you’ve ever written a novel before or not. Whether you’ve ever written before or not. Any language, any genre, with absolutely anything happening that you want to.

If you’ve always dreamed of writing your own novel, join up! Don’t worry about being the new kid on the block who’s never done this before. Don’t worry if you don’t have a clue what to write about. Don’t worry if you think it’ll all be crap. You won’t be alone!

And if you’re from Sri Lanka, join us in our regional lounge and introduce yourself and tell us about your story. If you’re from Asia but your country doesn’t have its own region, join us in the Asia: Elsewhere regional lounge. And make sure you affiliate with the proper region!

We also have our very own chat rooms this year for virtual meet-ups and word wars – one for each of Sri Lanka and Asia: Elsewhere – so make sure you join us there!

It’s going to be a great NaNoWriMo, so make sure you join us!
