An interesting question came up about reading short fiction – which I’m going to blog about in a separate post – on the Tor Beta site which I can’t link to because it’s a beta and they’ve asked everyone not to. Yes, I know I’m being mean, but hey, what can I do? I also find it interesting that I run across – and can recognize – one person thus far who I know from another writing site.
But the Tor Beta site will stop being a beta and go to public consumption in, I dunno, a week or three? I have the projected date in an email, I think, but I’m too lazy to look it up.
At any rate, the conversations are interesting, there are bugs abounding but they’re working on it, and it looks like it could end up being quite the interesting community of science fiction & fantasy readers and writers.
I’m curious to see where this goes.
Meanwhile, this is just to get some pre-release buzz going. Because I can and because it’s fun.
I’ll post here when it’s open for public consumption, although no doubt Tor’s own PR machines will reach the masses long before I do.
