I Was Quoted!

LMD, a Sri Lankan business magazine, mentioned C3 in their News Journal section. Here’s what they said:
Snap, And You’re On the Net!
Digital photography is all the craze in the Web world, it seems.
"Back in the non-digital photography days, taking photos was expensive. the cost of the camera was just the beginning. Then there were tripods, filters, more lenses, more powerful flashes and so on … Photography was an expensive hobby. Now, thanks to digital photography, it’s gotten a lot cheaper." C3, a new Sri Lankan IT magazine, observes. Digital photography also makes it a lot easier to share photos with family and friends, or sell them online - and image-hosting sites are apparently the craze. ImageShack (imageshack.us) is a popular site, but C3 says it was turned off by "obnoxious advertising" on its front page. Nevertheless, the site claims two-plus million uploads each day, 30-odd million unique visitors every month and in excess of 2.5 billion images served everyday.
I’m not sure what part of this is supposed to be the news, but it appears as though it’s that digital photography is all the craze on the Internet.
And yes, I did say that about ImageShack. When I visited that site, it had one of those "Congratulations! You are the 999,999,999th visitor! You are a winner!" that flashes and moves on the screen enough to set off an epileptic attack, I suspect. At any rate, that kind of a flashing ad is enough to start a migraine for me, so, yes, obnoxious it is.
I don’t know why their brief blurb focused on ImageShack. that was only one of close to a dozen sites I mentioned, and ImageShack was the worst of the lot. I’m guessing it was mentioned because it was the first one, so the person writing up the news blurb didn’t have to actually read the entire article.
Because, really, there were a lot of other things they could have said about that article that would have been a lot more coherent. Ah, the pickiness, the pickiness… :D

The first time I was quoted in The Wall Street Journal, or any other newspaper/publication for that matter, a quote the reporter used made my face turn red.
Mimicking a man who didn’t receive a callback for a business opportunity, I said, calling the prosect and saying “Yo man, what’s up?” isn’t recommended.
LOL
I’m a mess.

That is very cool indeed. For both you and Auria, at least they got the quote right.
