Twilight by Stephenie Meyers

So. I whined about how I figured I’d never be able to read Twilight by Stephenie Meyers because it’ll never reach Sri Lanka, so some really really incredibly cool people from a forum I’m on, and where Twilight has been discussed at length (and which Stephenie Meyers is a member and posts sometimes) mailed a copy to me out of the goodness of their hearts and pocketbooks. And I ended up being incredibly grateful to them because, well, I love reading, I love books, and I loved Twilight.

Well, then, today, Fahim and I went shopping at Vijitha Yapa’s, the country’s largest bookstore chain (I think they have half a dozen outlets.) We’d accumulated a bunch of points with our credit card and wanted to redeem them, and Vijitha Yapa is one of the places we can go. Plus, as mentioned previously, we loooove books and we love reading.

So we accumulate a stack of books to buy, including the entire Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy series, the Tawny Man series by Robin Hobbs, and quite a few others, and we’re at the checkout counter when Fahim points at the wall behind the cashier.

And there, in startling clarity, is a paperback copy of Twilight by none other than Stephanie Meyers. Same cover.
