In the last few days, I’ve had entries go from published to draft (meaning they no longer show up on the page for you to see) spontaneously. As in, with me not doing a thing. I’ve had to manually republish them.
In the last month or so, I’ve had phantom comments show up in my email (I get notifications on all comments left in my blog) but not show up anywhere in the blog itself. Not in moderation, not in Spam Karma, just… gone.
I’ve also had problems with trackbacks and pingbacks – I get notifications, but they disappear, too. And they don’t show up in the blog itself.
Yesterday, the server had a php database meltdown, which caused my entire site to seize up. Luckily, that resolved itself in about ten or fifteen minutes without intervention on my part.
This morning, I publish an entry, I refresh my blog page, and a previous entry is gone. As in, not showing up on the site. I check, and no, it hasn’t gone to draft mode by itself – it still shows up as published. But it’s not showing up on the site.
I’m ready to scream.
Yeah, I may appear mild-mannered, but…
Anyway, you know all that contemplating I’ve been doing about moving to Movable Type? It’s no longer contemplation. I’m dumping WordPress and the PHP structure which is possibly what’s causing problems. I’m dumping it as fast as I can…
I’ve had enough.
