What do you do about that infernal internal editor?

You could have a conversation with your internal editor. Let her know that she’s still needed during editing and polishing, but right now, you want to blitz draft, and if she gets out of your way for blitz drafting, then there’s a whole lot more for her to edit later.

Another alternative – and this assumes that you can touch type – is to put a blind fold on. If you can’t see the keyboard, it becomes a lot more difficult to edit as you go. I did this a lot in the beginning, and it really helped me.

And with the day I had yesterday, I’m thinking about doing it again today.
