Ramadan and NaNoWriMo just don’t mix

30 November 2004

Granted, it wasn’t me going through Ramadan, it was my husband. But still, given that he’s a man and therefore incapable of looking after himself, I had to get up at 4:30 in the morning nearly every day of Ramadan to make him brekkie.
Left to his own devices, he would have eaten a banana or [...]

More on BIW the Group

27 November 2004

It’s true, BIW the Group is great. I would stress that it’s an incredibly positive group.
What other group have I ever found where we have so much interaction but no backbiting, sniping, name calling, and the like?  This is seriously a positive group and nothing but positive energy seems to stick.
If you’re a writer looking [...]

Progress? Er, no.

12 November 2004

I’m taking myself off the goal sheet this week.  I’m just too fried to be able to do anything.  Instead, I’m going to work on other things that don’t require this type of concentration.  Cleaning up & re-doing websites, reading a huge book, and playing with my cat and that will be pretty much it.  [...]

Progress 10 Nov 2004

10 November 2004

I haven’t been feeling at all well.  It’s probably due, at least in part, to me not getting enough sleep.  Fahim’s in Ramadan, the Muslim month of fasting, and he has to start his fast before daybreak.  He eats more – and feels better – when I prepare him something, mostly because he eats more.  [...]

It took me until today to come up with a plot.

8 November 2004

Well, sorta yesterday, but mostly today.
I’ve had this idea kicking around my head for the longest time. It was all because of this dream I had that took place in West Edmonton Mall, of all places. And it just kinda took off from there.
Well, I won’t bore you with the boring details. Or, I won’t [...]

November 2004 BIW Goal

7 November 2004

Because I’m just a little more than slightly insane, I’m in for 200 pages.
And I’ve been doing so badly with NaNoWriMo that I need to do major writing next week to get back on track, and this’ll clear it right up for me.

I feel like crap

2 November 2004

And I haven’t written anything yet. I’m not sure if today is going to be a complete write off day or what. I’m just not feeling at all well and think I just wanna lie down and take another nap.
My niece, on the other hand, is writing happily away. Aaargh.
I mean, good for her. But [...]

It’s time for bed, and what have I accomplished on my first day?

1 November 2004

A bit. Not as much as I would have liked, but a bit.
The cool thing is having Lou, my niece, writing with me. Not on my stuff – no, she’s got her own project going. And she changed her mind this morning on what she’d do. Cool.
Well, if you’re going to change your mind, now [...]

It’s started!

1 November 2004

NaNoWriMo officially started nearly twelve hours ago in my time zone.
And have I started yet?
Oh. No. No, I haven’t. Nope. Uh uhn.
But I will.
I had to clip my nails – they were getting so long that they were interfering with my typing accuracy and speed. So they’re gone. No more claws of death.
And [...]
